As of fall 2024, students may no longer be allowed by IT to connect to the Hostos Wi-Fi network. Instead, please create a free Eduroam account and download the installer to your device.

The benefit to Eduroam is that it is used all over the country, as well as in many  other countries (see map below!) so it can be a good, secure source of free wi-fi in many places.

To set it up, you will have to be online, so you can download the installer, so please try to remember to do it before you come to campus, or if you can briefly use your mobile phone as a hotspot.

1. Go to eduroam.org

2. Click on "click here to download your eduroam installer"

3. Select City University of New York from the list of participating colleges

4. Confirm that the “Download your installer” line includes your device type or operating system, then click on the eduroam button.

If your device or operating system is not shown in the “Download your installer” line, eduroam may not support a secure internet connection for your device.

5. Follow the directions to download and install the app.

6. For Chromebooks, select "Default" for the Server CA Certificate field.

7. Sign in with your CUNY login (same as you use for Brightspace).

8. You can now connect to eduroam as free wi-fi.

For more information, see the Hostos IT page.
